What is Brainspotting?
Brainspotting is a therapeutic approach that utilizes the brain-body connection to address trauma, emotional distress, and other psychological issues. Developed by Dr. David Grand, Brainspotting involves identifying and processing "brainspots," which are eye positions associated with specific emotions, memories, or bodily sensations.

How does Brainspotting work?
During a Brainspotting session, the therapist guides the client's attention to different eye positions, allowing them to access and process unresolved trauma or distressing experiences stored in the brain and body. The therapist observes the client's eye movements and bodily responses to identify relevant brainspots.

Key benefits of brainspotting
-
Dual Attunement: The therapist attunes to both the client's internal experience and their own somatic responses, fostering a deep therapeutic connection.
-
Focused Mindfulness: Clients are encouraged to maintain a mindful and nonjudgmental awareness of their inner experiences during the session.
-
Resource Enhancement: Brainspotting aims to access and strengthen the client's internal resources, promoting resilience and self-regulation.

Why brainspotting?
BrainSpotting is a therapeutic approach that focuses on accessing, processing, and releasing deep-seated neurophysiological sources of emotional and physical pain, trauma, and other challenging symptoms. Too say it directly it reaches areas that talk therapy struggles to reach.
